Here are five of the best performers from game week 34

We are slowly getting to the endgame of the Premier League as week 34 wraps up. A total of 27 goals were scored with quite some high scoring games and Arsenal set to play Watford later. City won their game versus Crystal Palace to continue their assault on the title. Spurs produced a fantastic display to keep themselves in the hunt for a top 4 place. Manchester United scrapped past a dogged West Ham side to get back to winning ways.

The marquee game of the weekend was Liverpool hosting Chelsea. A lot was at stake but Liverpool ran out comfortable winners over the Blues. Let us now take a look at some of the best players from the weekend.

Honourable mentions: David Brooks, Willy Boly, Mohamed Salah, Paul Pogba, Fabian Schar, Ryan Babel.

There are a few things you can do to make this list of ours and Lucas Moura gets himself in with a hat-trick. With Harry Kane pretty much out for the season, someone needed to step up and the Brazilian obliged. He scored the first with a powerful effort from a tight angle after Sissoko poked the ball into the box and on to his path.

Christian Eriksen put in a dipping cross in the box which fell to Lucas who took a touch and struck it in. Much similar to the first goal, he completed his hat-trick when son pushed a through ball for him. He also managed to complete 2 dribbles, making 4 tackles and kept a pass accuracy of 87%.

Bournemouth went out and absolutely hammered a hapless Brighton side by 5 goals, out of which Callum Wilson assisted 2 and scored 1. He first assisted Dan Gosling for Bournemouth’s first goal with a neat one-two in the box which was finished by Gosling with ease.

Then, he put in an accurate through ball for Ryan Fraser to run at and the latter managed to coolly float it into the top corner. The roles reversed when Fraser’s cross was received by Wilson who turned with the ball nicely before striking with his left foot past Matt Ryan.

In a match which was to have major ramifications in the relegation scrap, Burnley coasted to a 2-0 win over newly promoted side Cardiff. Chris Wood, the Kiwi, scored both the goals as Burnley look well set to avoid the drop this year.

The forward managed to hit the bar as early as the first minute but eventually managed to get the ball in the net at the half-hour mark with a clean header from a Dwight McNeil corner. He scored the 2nd one, also a header, after McNeil’s shot deflected off the defender and was on its way to goal before Wood sent it in from a yard out.

It’s been a really tough season for De Bruyne as he has struggled with a lot of injuries and looked off-colour in the few games he played, mostly due to his incomplete recovery. However, Crystal Palace have to count themselves unfortunate that De Bruyne dropped one of his best performances of the season.
A piercing through ball from behind the halfway line found its way to an onrushing Raheem Sterling who made no mistake of smashing the ball in the net. He, then assisted Gabriel Jesus with a simple pass that the Brazilian slotted past Vicente Guaita to seal the game. A game where he showed tremendous quality with 90% pass accuracy, 2 aerials, 2 dribbles and 5 tackles.

Another important game that would have a say in this season’s relegation, Southampton managed to nab a win over highfliers Wolverhampton and will remain hopeful that they can somehow remain in the league.

Nathan Redmond was the star man with his 2 goals, the first of which he scored in just the 2nd min of play. Josh Sims sent in a low drilled cross that Redmond somehow managed to poke in with his right foot at the near post. Danny Ings found Redmond with a splitting pass in between the defenders and the latter struck it well enough to chip it in despite Patricio getting a hand to it.
