Manchester United host West Ham United on matchday 33
Venue: Old Trafford
Date: Sat, 13/04/2019
Kick-off: 10:00 IST
It’s back the Leagues for a (very) short while. The Red-devils are as fragile and delicate as ceramic at the time of writing this. A single misstep could result in undesired repercussions. They have now lost their last two games and are sixth in the PL. They might have to bid farewell to that UCL spot for next season. Ashley Young has been in poor form and will look to redeem but not in this match because of a prior red card. But as they say, there is always light in the deepest pits and some Man Utd players have been great this season.
Players like Shaw, Dalot, Fred and perhaps most recently, Scott Mctominay have really stepped up to the plate to compensate for a lot of missteps by the big names. West Ham have just been mediocre this season, standing at 11th place. Nothing too wild on either the negative or positive side.
One player that has risen to prominence is 20 year old Declan Rice. He will be one of the hot topics of the transfer window for sure. For now, West Ham United will surely try to harvest as much raw performance from him as possible. Besides him, Fabianski and Felipe Anderson have also been pretty good this season.
The Red Devils will have to do without Ashley Young and man-in-form Luke Shaw because of card-related suspensions. A lot of injury woes at Trafford with the likes of Herrera, Matic, Bailly, Valencia and Darmian all possibly sitting this one out. Alexis Sanchez might return after recovering from knee jersey, at least, as a sub. Goes without saying that a lot of eyes will be on the Chilean footballer. Rashford, Martial and Lingard are all expected to grace the pitch, at least as subs.
West Ham United:
It will be back to the stands for Samir Nasri who suffered a calf-injury after breaking a long absence. Pellegrini says to hold on for a while longer to see Wilshere in the standard team again.
Predicted Starting XI:
De Gea; Rojo, Lindelof, Smalling, Dalot; Pogba, McTominay, Fred; Martial, Lingard, Lukaku
West Ham United (4-2-3-1):
Fabianski; Fredericks, Diop, Balbuena, Cresswell; Rice, Noble; Arnautovic, Lanzini, Anderson; Chicharito
Man Utd: L-L-W-L-L
West Ham United: W-L-W-L-L
Predicted Score: Man United 1-0 West Ham United
Both teams have left a lot to be desired in terms of form but Man U still has a lot of quality talent and despite the losses, some of them have been playing really well and thus give them the upper hand in the coming draw.
