Manchester United play host to Cardiff City on matchday 38 of the Premier League
After the 1-1 draw last week, United were confirmed to play in the Europa League and there does not seem much to play for in the final game. However, Solskjaer would want to finish on a high after what has been one of the most disappointing seasons in recent memory.
Cardiff are relegated and they are also in no position to affect the table in any way. They will also want to close out this campaign win a win over their former boss. We will now take a look at a bit of team news, probable lineups and try to predict the scoreline.
A lot of changes could be seen in the final game with quite some youngsters set to either start or get minutes off the bench. Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes, James Garner and Mason Greenwood are the players expected to play a part. Lukaku and Sanchez are ruled out due to injury but Lindelof and Lingard could return.
Victor Camarasa and Harry Arter are out for the away side with injury and most of the lineup should feature the same players.
Manchester United (4-3-3):
De Gea; Valencia, Lindelof, Jones, Shaw; Herrera, Matic, Pogba; Chong, Greenwood, Rashford;
Etheridge; Peltier, Morrison, Ecuele Manga, Bennett; Gunnarsson, Bacuna; Mendez-Laing, Reid, Murphy; Ward
PREDICTED SCORE: Manchester United 2 - 0 Cardiff City
While Manchester United have looked off colour in front of goal and shaky at the back, a relegated Cardiff shouldn’t really be a tough challenge. They would want to give the fans something cheer about and the season on a high.
