Manchester City host Leicester City at the Etihad on matchday 37
Date: Sunday, May 7, 2019
Kick-off: 12:30 AM (IST)
Probably the last test for the defending champions? Manchester City will be hosted by Brighton & Hove Albion on the final day of the season. They should easily go past through the Seagulls but its Brendon Rodger's Leicester City which will travel to Etihad Stadium to stop Man City's emphatic title defence. Liverpool's late win against Newcastle United carried them to the first position with 94 points but Manchester City still has one extra game to play with 92 points already under the bag.
Leicester, themselves, is in a race to finish "best of the rest." Wolves are currently on the 7th position but two wins from the two games can give former PL champions a 7th spot finish. Can the former Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, make the ultimate favour for his previous Premier League club??
Kevin De Bruyne remains out of the side. Fernandinho is also a major doubt for this important clash. If he fails to recover in time, Ilkay Gundogan would be a natural choice to replace him in the holding role.
Brendan Rodgers will be having a fully fit squad with only Daniel Amartey and Matty James out.?
Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko; Bernardo Silva, Gundogan, D.Silva; Sterling, Aguero, Sane?
Schmeichel; Pereira, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell; Albrighton, Tielemans, Ndidi, Choudhury, Maddison; Vardy?
PREDICTION: Manchester City 2-2 Leicester City
The Foxes have been in sublime form recently. Jamie Vardy, Maddison, Chilwell, Pereira, all have stepped up in the business end of the season. Sergio Aguero will be looking to get his name on the scoresheet but would that be enough? Can Leicester hold Manchester City? Well, they just might be.
