Ajax host Juventus in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League
Ajax will look to pull off another shocking victory against the Old Lady, who are aiming for a third Champions League final in five years. Ajax coach claims his side must play to their strengths against a strong Juventus side and believes that they have enough in their locker to cause an upset.
Ajax has no injuries or suspensions to worry about, and manager Erik ten Hag will have a fully squad to choose from. The only long term absentees are Hassane Bande( fibula), and Carel Eiting (knee). Noussair Mazraoui is most likely to return to the starting XI after suspension.
Juventus will be boosted by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo who was sidelined for the past two weeks with an injury. Chiellini will be absent due to a calf injury, and Emre Can who picked up a knock in the weekend.
Onana; Mazraoui, de Ligt, Blind, Tagliafico; Schone, F De Jong, van de Beek; Ziyech, Tadic, Neres
Szczesny; Cancelo, Rugani, Bonucci, Spinazzola; Bentancur, Matuidi, Pjanic; Bernardeschi, Mandzukic, Ronaldo
SCORE PREDICTION: Ajax 1 – 2 Juventus
Both teams are in great form and neither of them should be ruled out from getting a win. You can expect both teams to get forward in numbers in search of a goal. Ajax certainly have the capacity to cause an upset, and Juventus will be wary of that, but the return of Ronaldo should be enough to see Juventus win, although a win for the home side should not be ruled out
